Defining words

Freeware-Software that is provided without charge. Examples of freeware are AvantGo, a software that saves condensed versions of Web pages, and MadCalc, a program for medical calculations.

Shareware- Software that is distributed without payment ahead of time as is common for proprietary software. Some examples for shareware are sharing music and pirated music.

Open Source- refers to projects that are open to the public and which draw on other projects that are freely available to the general public. Yes, I do use open source. I use Google Documents and YouTube.

Commercial Software- refers to any software that is designed for sale to serve a comercial need. Examples are Managers Plus Pro and Raisers Edge.
